Magdalena Ujma – an art critic, a curator of exhibitions and projects dedicated to contemporary art. She studied the History of Art and Cultural Management. She ran the Galeria NN in Lublin and was a member of the editorial team of the literary quarterly Kwartalnik Literacki “Kresy”; she also worked at the Muzeum Sztuki in Łodź as well as the Bunkier Sztuki Gallery of Contemporary Art in Kraków. She is now a freelancer. She has curated and co-curated numerous exhibition, the latest being masters peasants peasants masters, hosted by the Sądecki Ethnographic Park and the BWA Sokół Gallery in Nowy Sącz (together with Wojciech Szymański, 2016). She is the author of Sztuki wizualne. Skandale[Visual Arts. Scandals] (2011). Her work addresses Polish art and visual culture in the 20th and 21st century, their role in the development and maintenance of Polish identity myths, as well as the language of art criticism and the intersections of the visual and the textual.
