Paweł Kruk

Visual artist, author of video films and performances.

Pawel Kruk was born in 1976 in Koszalin (Poland) is based in Bolinas, California. He holds an MA in Drawing from the Fine Arts Academy in Poznan (2000). His diploma thesis was presented in the group exhibition The American Effect at Whitney Museum of American Art in New York in 2003. He was a participant of the Advanced Art Course with Marina Abramović organized by Fondazione Antonio Ratti in Como, Italy in 2000. He received a fellowship from CCA Kitakyushu, Japan and from ArtsLink in New York, NY (both in 2002). In 2007 Kruk was granted a residency at the International Studio and Curatorial Program in New York, NY and at Headlands Center for the Arts in Sausalito, CA, where he was an affiliate artist from 2008–2010. He was nominated for the 2010 SECA Award. Kruk is two time recipient of the Young Poland Award and attended the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam (2011-2012). Recent solo exhibitions include Hotel Maria Kapel, Hoorn, The Netherlands; Dawid Radziszewski Gallery, Warsaw, Poland; Beirut, Cairo, Egypt. He is represented by Dawid Radziszewski Gallery in Warsaw.
